EKE-Trainnet® products include a complete family of Train Management System functions and components. The EKE-Trainnet® TMS consists of an EKE-TCN Gateway system as the core product, and an implementation-dependant line of other components including local intelligence, intelligent and non-intelligent system interfaces, and data logging facilities. The EKE-Trainnet® features also include a data radio-based depot interface.

The EKE-Trainnet® Gateway is a fully IEC 61375 Train Communication Network (TCN) compliant gateway, which supports UIC 556 leaflet application functions. The gateway is combined of three modules; the Wire Train Bus (WTB) module, the Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB) module and the Gateway module (CPU). The Gateway is integrated as the networking part of EKE-Trainnet® Train Management System but it is also available as a stand-alone equipment.

The EKE-Trainnet® TMS simplifies the implementation and trimming of coach functions and decreases commissioning costs due to it's efficient development and debugging features.

Existing EKE-Trainnet® TMS installations include a number of international projects and a variety of trains, from passenger coach to high-speed trains, from embedded networking system deliveries to complete turn-key Train Management System deliveries.

The EKE-Trainnet® Train Management System (TMS) is a distributed computer system. The basic EKE-Trainnet® TMS equipment consists of an EKE-Trainnet® network between the coaches, one Coach Computer in each coach, user interface panels and interfaces with the other train systems and functions. Distributed intelligence and redundant databus structure guarantees that the EKE-Trainnet® TMS has no single- point failures that prevent the system from operating.

The EKE-Trainnet® Train Management System (TMS) integrates the train functions and provides a centralized and uniform diagnostics and monitoring interface for the user, the EKE-Trainnet® MMI-Station. This user interface is a menu-driven system and includes an assistance function for the user in problem situations.

The diagnostics facility has also local, a UIC 557 type diagnostics interface and fault data memory the EKE-Trainnet® MMI Display/Keypad. This diagnostics interface can be used for both on-line problem investigation and depot maintenance purposes. The diagnostics data can also be downloaded for later analysis or forwarded to the depot via GSM interface before the train even arrives at the depot.

The EKE-Trainnet® TMS is capable of automatic control or user-initiated functions such as door-control or brake-testing functions. A data-logging facility is also available for train operation analysis purposes.

The networking facility and inauguration features of the EKE-Trainnet® TMS are available for other systems, including passenger information purposes.

EKE-Trainnet® TMS products are specially designed for a rolling-stock environment.
